What is the Sokol Run of the Republic
We are an annual celebration of the founding of Czechoslovakia and we celebrate October 28th by movement! The first edition was held in 2019 and was an instant success. Today, we dare to say that the event has become a modern Sokol tradition that grows each year in more places in the Czech Republic and amongst the compatriot communities around the world. Join us and celebrate the founding of the republic by movement, see you on 28th of October!
Join the celebrations by movement
Anyone who wants to be part of the Sokol Run of the Republic can join. You must register at www.behrepublikyid.cz, fill in the necessary information and pay the registration fee. In the registration system you will also find a list of locations where the run will take place and choose the location to run according to it. The rules of the run can be found here.
Inspired by history
In the autumn of 1919, on the occasion of the first anniversary of the Czechoslovak Republic, the Sokols prepared an unprecedented sporting event that allowed the participation of the largest number of Sokols in history, the so-called "Rozestavný běh" on 28th of October. Inspired by history, one hundred years later, a new project was created, the Sokol Run of the Republic, and with it the celebration of 28th of October in the form of a run organized throughout the country.
